This casting was made with a rifle the Swiss Army, used between 1914 and 1934. In Switzerland, the military service is mandatory, and after that, we can keep the rifle. Nevertheless, you have to be Swiss.

My father, who is Spanish, recieved two years ago this rifle by a Swiss friend. And recently he gave it me. He also gave me an old fabric, originally for cleaning, to hide the weapon during my walk between his place to mine.

I used this fabric to make a casting, to that suggests a shadow of a rifle, reflecting by the situation about possession of guns in Switzerland. It’s the fourth country to have the most guns per inhabitant.

This rifle represents an interest for me because it’s a national object, linked to the identity of Switzerland.
